CONCEPT ART
Throughout my time working in the games industry I've worked as a concept artist/designer on a number of titles. The following games showcase a number of stylistic choices and differing types of concept types.
CHARACTER AND ENVIRONMENT ART
I’ve worked on character art and have been lead character artist for a range of titles in both 2D and 3D. This gallery shows the projects and highlights different character styles, design approaches and production techniques.
As an artist also tasked with doing Environments, I've taken the principles I learned from comic art and applied them to the Games I've worked on. Environments take of many different forms and I've been lucky enough to work on many different types.
ANIMATION
I graduated from University with a degree in traditional animation. I used that learning to begin animating in games from a 2D traditionalist’s eye. Then moving onto puppet animation before discovering 3D animation using Blender.
TECH ART
As the requirements of a 3D generalist grew with each new project, so did the list of skills required to fulfil the role as an effective member of any team. Character and Environment Rigging became a key skill for any artist working in 3D. Understanding the techniques needed for good UV maps also helped round out my skills as a core member of any game dev art department.
