DB CRICKET JR.

Arcade-Style casual sports sim.

Art Director - Lead Artist

ROLE

I worked on Don Bradman Cricket Jr. (originally Cricket Rage) as lead visual developer.

I was tasked with creating the visual identity of the game with the original brief of the game being that it was to launch on switch/mobile. I made the decision to steer away from realism and stylize the characters like classic sports titles. This gives the players the impression of a more casual gaming experience and allowed me to tackle the workload as a primarily solo artist.

I created the player models and equipment, leaning for lower poly counts and flat textures that let the more cartoonish aspects of the designs shine through.  I also developed the initial oval stadium along with crowd models and all the player equipment for the title, keeping everything in a low/mid poly range.

I also designed the UI & Layouts for the game, designing each screen for the game and developing the best way to deliver information such as league tables and match statistics to the players.

The game will be release early 2027 on pc and switch.
