JENNIFER WILDE

A noir murder mystery featuring Oscar Wilde..

Art Director - Concept Artist - Character Artist - Animator

ROLE

My time on Jennifer Wilde was as Lead Character Artist, Environment Artist & Animator. Helping establish and develop the game's visual identity. I Created concept artwork to explore and refine visual ideas of the black & white noir look of the original comic book, ensuring the art direction remained consistent with the comics style and tone.

Alongside my concept art responsibilities, I worked as lead Environment Artist, contributing to the design and visual composition of game environments. This involved considering how spaces would look and function within the game in 2D, balancing visual presentation with gameplay requirements. The game is set on a 2.5D plane, so environments had to fit the games aesthetic and function as levels.

I also expanded my technical and animation skills by creating complex hand drawn 2D animations & using Spine, bringing characters and visual elements to life through animation and supporting the game's presentation. This provided valuable experience in integrating animation into my wider game development process.

The games striking visual style went on to win several awards, gathering both the Galway Games fest Excellence in Art award & NIGD best art in a game the year of release.

The game went onto release on steam, with a port to the switch later on in development.
